As teachers struggle to offer world-class education on third world budgets, free classroom tools are always appreciated. This is especially true when those tools promote 21st Century Skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and digital information literacy.
In an earlier post, I focused on the wiki as a Web 2.0 tool with unlimited classroom applications. Wikispaces.com currently hosts over 400,000 educational wikis that are viewed and managed by over 6 million users. Recently, the international online version of Computerworld ran an article featuring Wikispaces.com and even mentioned our NASA project, Expedition Earth and Beyond, as a large-scale example of a successful educational wiki. I hope that you find the story of interest and useful for your own educational technology needs.
